Nick.

Don't forget about the "Hamilton Burger", near the courthouse.

Hey Nick,

We left Toledo 2 years ago to start our full-timing adventure. We were transplants (we're originally from Detroit). Between 2000-2005, I sold Real Estate in Toledo; a couple of houses in your old neighborhood.

Still have lots of friends back there, and old clients who still call me. Sad to see the economic hard hit the area's taken.

That 1.2 miles was really rough at 7Am in mid Jan. with the wind blowing, or on those Nov. days when the rain was falling, and you couldn't tell if it was rain or sleet.

Kids don't do that now,(most kids) I see lines of cars dropping off the kids, and lines picking them up in the afternoons.

Nick, did you know a teacher/principal named Robert (Bob) Leonard there in Toledo? He's gone now, but he was in the Toledo system for years. Was a family member.

Nice to read about your reminescences. Sounds just like my hubby, Chuck. He and I both like to visit the old neighborhoods. In fact, just yesterday we drove down one of our "memory lanes" too and visited the grounds where an old amusement park stood! We were newlyweds then and couldn't afford the rides but we would walk to the park (free entry), buy ice cream and sit and watch the people! That was over 50 years ago. :-)

Nick, I sure remember some of the places you wrote about since I grew up 30 miles for there in Port Clinton. My buddies an I used to go to the "Big City" to raise hell so no one would know what we were up to. Those WERE some good old times.
