I like tourist traps. If you have time to stop at a trap and don't. Then you missed out. Most will put a smile on your face. Thats worth something.

I used to be a serious road warrior, easily driving 1000 miles a week all over the country, and I vividly recall seeing 'Pedro says' billboards all over the southeastern US. I have stopped there precisely once, just to say I've been there.

How about 'See Rock City' barns (though they are few and far between these days, they used to be all over the country.

These places are time machines. They take us back to when people actually thought this stuff was cool. How can you resist that? OK, I always thought they were tacky but they are now museums of tacky and I still sometimes stop. Not at Wall Drug again but at ones I've never seen before. They are, after all, part of the culture we are out here exploring.

We usually pass on ticky tacky tourist traps in favor of National Parks. Didn't even slow down for Wall Drug however i might be tempted for The Thing just to take a look at the Rolls. :>)
