Florida
RV Parks
Eagle’s
Landing RV Park, Holt,
Florida
– What a pleasant surprise Eagle’s Landing was! Just ¼ mile off
Interstate 10, the park is clean, quiet, and friendly. With 60 roomy,
level, grass, full hookup, 100 foot long pull-thru sites, both 30 and 50
amp electric available, a rec room with BBQ grills available out front,
laundry, clean restrooms with showers, WiFi service, and friendly
people, this park is one we will go out of our way to return to whenever
we are in the area. Close to the Gulf beaches and activities
Suwannee
Valley
Campground, White Springs
- The first time we visited this Passport America affiliate we
really enjoyed the natural beauty of the park and the friendliness and
concern the owners showed their guests. On our next visit, the
park was just as clean and pretty, but during our time there we never
saw the owners, just a couple of workampers, one of whom seemed to
consider taking care of guests to be a rude interruption to her
schedule. The park has 119 full hookup 30/50 amp sites that can
accommodate 40 foot RVs, a pool, small store, and laundry. Some sites
feature instant-on telephone hookups. It is a good place to stay while
visiting the Stephen
Foster Folk Culture
Center, which is within walking distance.
Blueberry
Hill RV Park, Bushnell - The owners are
friendly and have worked hard to create a homey feeling that
travelers will appreciate. The park has 300 big rig friendly full hookup
50 amp pull-thru sites, rec hall with kitchen, shuffleboard courts,
paved roads and sites, private bath houses, a large heated pool,
scheduled activities, and modem access. The park is located next to a super Wal-Mart, is convenient to Interstate 75, and less than an
hour from the major attractions in Orlando.
Sumpter
Oaks RV Park, Bushnell - We knew on our first visit to this Escapees RV Club
park, but it would not be our last. Between the warm Escapee welcome, the
amenities that include a heated indoor pool, small store, modem access,
club house, and it’s convenient location just off Interstate 75, there
is a lot to like. The park has 99 full hookup sites that can accommodate 40 foot RVs, all with concrete pads.
Encore
Crystal
River
Super Park,
Crystal
River
- This upscale park on
Florida’s Gulf
Coast
has enough to keep you happy for a long time, including 275+ full hookup
sites with 50 amp electric, cable TV, concrete pads, an activity center,
pool and hot tub, laundry, boat dock and boat rentals, and a full
schedule of planned activities. Whether you come to see the manatees
that winter here, for the great fishing, or just to relax, you will have
a good time. This was our first visit to an Encore
Super Park, and we were
impressed with all it had t offer.
Lake
Rousseau
RV Park/Fishing Resort,
Crystal
River
- Located out in the country on the shore of a beautiful fishing
lake, this Passport America park is a clean, friendly, laid back place
to hang out, catch some big fish, and get away from the cares of the
world. The park features 122 full hookup sites, two club houses, a
store, swimming pool, laundry, washrooms, boat ramp, and paved streets.
Turtle
Creek Resort, Homosassa
- This is a friendly Passport America
park located almost next door to the Florida
StateWildlife
Park, where you can meet manatee close up and personal. Amenities include
225 full hookup sites that can accommodate RVs up to 45 feet long, a
store, modem access, planned activities, a heated pool, cable TV, clean
restrooms and showers.
Rock
Crusher
Canyon
RV & Music
Park,
Crystal
River
- This is a beautiful upscale park featuring 400 full hookup
50 amp sites with cable TV, including sites with telephone hookups,
large enough to handle any size RV. Amenities include a heated pool and
jacuzzi, clubhouse, internet access, hiking trails, fishing, and live
entertainment every weekend. Among the big name performers who take the
stage at
Rock Crusher
Canyon’s 20,000 square foot pavilion are Glen Campbell, Pat Boone, Roy
Clark, Willie Nelson, the Oakridge Boys, Creedence Clearwater Revival,
and the Glenn Miller Orchestra.
The
Resort, Zolfo Springs
- I think this has to be one of the prettiest Escapee Club parks we
have ever visited, with neatly trimmed lawns, paved roads, full hookup
sites with 50 amp electric, a nice clubhouse with modem access, and a
pool. Other amenities include super clean restrooms and showers, a
laundry, game room, and library. The park is close to many major Florida
attractions and beaches.
Tampa
is 40 miles away,
Orlando
54 miles, Miami
130, and Lake Okeechobee and the
Everglades
are close by. We liked it and will return again.
Cross
Creek Country Club RV/Golf Resort, Arcadia
- With 400 spaces, a nine hole championship golf course, pro shop,
championship tennis court, Olympic sized swimming pool, daily planned
activities and a host of other amenities, Cross Creek is upscale all the
way. Everyone we met was friendly and seemed to be having a good time.
Little
Willies RV Resort, Arcadia
- Little Willies is a clean, friendly RV resort where we would be
comfortable spending time. With over 330 full hookup sites, 30 amp
electric, recreation hall, paved roads and nice sized sites with
concrete patios, the park has a nice, warm feel. Other amenities include
clean, hot showers, LP gas, sites with phone hookups, a pool and planned
activities.
Craig’s
RV Park, Arcadia - If you like a super friendly park with lots of amenities
and activities, you’re going to like Craig’s. The park is clean, has
paved streets and grass sites with full hookups, sites with phone
hookups, planned activities, a very outgoing and helpful staff, enough
trees to provide shade without giving it a claustrophobic feel, a game
room, rec hall, laundry, putting green and much more. Music lovers will
want to be here in November for the park’s bluegrass music festival.
We were very impressed with this park.
Jennings
Outdoor Resort Campground, Jennings –
This is about the first campground you come to when you enter
Florida
on I-75 heading south, and a good place to stop for a night or two.
Located right off the highway, with over100 pull through full hookup
sites with cable TV and patios. The park has a convenience store, lake,
recreation room, and swimming pool, and it is a convenient base from
which to explore all of the northern Florida
and southern Georgia
attractions.
Ocala
KOA, Ocala
- Located just off Interstate 75, the Ocala KOA is a clean, well
laid out campground with super friendly management that makes a great
place to stop for a night or a month as you head south. The park
features over 250 full and partial RV sites, many of which are pull-thrus.
Amenities include cable TV at most sites, a store and game room,
swimming pool, car wash area, clean laundry and restrooms, playground
area, basketball and volleyball courts, LP gas and a fenced dog walk
area. Lots of beautiful oak and magnolia trees create a peaceful and
relaxed setting for the park. This is one you will like.
Encore
RV Resort,
Ocala
- With 126 full hookup 30 amp RV sites, a laundry room, cable TV and
telephone available, a heated pool, rec room, and planned activities,
Encore RV Resort has a lot to offer. The park is convenient to
Interstate 75 and a good base for your central
Florida
activities. Encore parks are now Passport America
affiliates, to add to your savings
Kingsley
Beach RV Campground, Starke
– This friendly lakeside RV park has shady sites, great fishing,
organized activities, a boat ramp, game room, store, 24 hour security
and lots more to make your stay enjoyable.
Wayne’s RV Resort, Lake City
– Calling this place a resort is kind of like calling Rosie
O’Donnell Miss America.Yeah, they may have some of the same basic equipment, but the
presentation is way off! I tried for a long time to come up with a kind
way to describe this place, but dump just doesn’t seem all that kind.
The park has a lot of very run down long term units, that look like they
will probably just sink into the sand someday, and more than one
resident was seen sipping out of a bottle inside a paper sack. Many of
the electric pedestals were dead, with wiring hanging out; the sewer
sites had empty plastic soda bottles for caps; and their idea of cable
TV was a coaxial cable stretched across the surface of the ground, with
a T connection at each RV site. As long as nobody on the other side of
the park turned on a light or fan, the reception ranged from fair to
poor. You are required to pay for the cable TV even if you don’t use
it. Even with the Passport America rate of $11 a night ($2 more than the
Passport guidebook lists), this place is still overpriced. If you just
need a place to park overnight, the local Wal-Mart would be much
preferred. If this were a hotel, it would be a flophouse.
